Christmas Attack
From TribalWarsWiki
This is a battle tactic used in Tribal Wars, originally created by the first German players.
It relies on the peace tradition during the Christian festival of Christmas, which is on 25th December every year. It is slightly ironic that Christmas is the season of peace and goodwill to all men. It is a family festival, so the majority of players will be celebrating with their families and friends, and not playing Tribal Wars. Players who are not celebrating Christmas, whether that be because they are of a different religion, atheist or have plainly forgot, will have at least a 24 hour window to attack a lot of people, without them noticing.
The Christmas Attack was hugely successful within the German community in 2006, and it is rumoured to be planned for 2007. My advice is to either:
A) Stay on your computer 24/7 over the Christmas period, using black coffee to keep you awake (I will not be using this technique).
B) Build up your defences in the few weeks you have left in the forms of walls and spearmen.
Remember: Hiding Places can be extremely useful in the event of an attack and the higher your level that your Village Headquarters is, the quicker you will build things.
In these troubled times, you are never safe on Tribal Wars. Not even on Christmas Day.
Note: This tactic was nullified in 2007 by a 3-day no attack period, as voted for by the players. This has been carried on into 2008, with the addition of an attack break over the course of the new year period.
