About

This page will deal with the expected behaviour within the Tribalwars forum located here.

The forums were created to aid the development of a helpful, player-based community and to provide more entertainment while playing the game. They're also used for posting tribal propaganda, tribal news, and for finding a tribe. Apart from those functions stated, many players come to:

  • Ask game-related questions

or

  • Announce important issues concerning the community.

It is important to know that having the right to post there is a privilege which can be taken if one does not follow the expected conduct and behavioral control necessary to maintain such a community.

The most important step towards understanding and abiding by these standards, is first to read the Forum Rules found here.
If you are in doubt of what is expected, always consult them first. If you are still unsure of your actions send a private message to the moderator of the forum in which you want to post and ask if the action you wish to undertake is allowed.

Important things to note when posting:

  • Do not insult other users (especially swearing).
  • Do not argue with the staff without a good reason and never communicate with them in an angry or violent manner.
  • Try to be constructive in your discussions.
  • Do not post unless you know your post will contribute to the conversation at hand in a positive way.
  • Never try to derail a thread from its topic. If you want to discuss something else, start a new thread and quote the one to which yours is related and explain how.
  • If it is more appropriate to send a PM to a player rather than respond in a thread always do so. This is a forum, not a chat room.
  • Always expect conflicting views and arguing in P&P. Present your ideas with sufficient facts.
  • If you try to argue with people without providing evidence that you are right and just repeating the same thing again and again you might be trolling. Trolling is forbidden.
  • If you note a member of the forum breaking a forum rule you can always report his post as described here.
  • If you want to post a Question you may do so in the questions forum, but please read the help files Wiki and search for previous topics there before you post a new one. It is very likely that your question has been answered before, especially if you are new to the game.
  • If you can, try to help other people with their problems. A community is built by its members.
  • The general forum is a place for announcements and serious discussions which concern a large part of the community.
  • The suggestions forum is where you can give the TW team some feedback of what you want added or changed in the game. If you are new to the game, please always make sure you have searched if the same suggestion has been made before.
  • Tribal leaders can advertise their tribes, and players can search for a tribe in the P&P sub-forums. Do not do this in the IRC channel.

Regarding infractions:

Infractions are the system of user warnings used in the forums. If you get a first infraction, you have nothing to worry about if you make sure you follow the rules in the future. Receiving more than one infraction might get you banned temporarily or in severe cases, permanently. Moderators will always give you the reason for the infraction, and we suggest you read the rules of the forum before you post again. If you are not sure about something, ask the moderators who, in turn, will try to help you unless you behave in an aggressive manor towards them.

  • If you have been banned from the forums and want to appeal, you should use the game's support system
  • If you have been warned and do not agree with the warning, you should reply to the Private Message. Public discussions of warnings will not be tolerated.
