Heavy Cavalry

Worlds: All

More Information
Heavy Cavalry are your strongest and most expensive troops, both offensively and defensively, because they are great all-round troops with by far the best stats.

In certain worlds, Heavy Cavalry can be upgraded in the smithy. In later versions of the game, however, it only needs to be researched once - if this is the case, it has the Level one stats.

Notes:

  • Heavy cavalry are considered the best all around troop, and can be applied in many different circumstances.
  • Defense
    • Their speed is useful for providing quick support to a village under attack; they are the fastest defensive unit
    • They are the strongest defensive unit, but also use 6 population each. When calculated, 6 spearmen are actually stronger than 1 heavy cavalry. In a 1:1 ratio however, heavy calvary will always beat any unit.
  • Offense
    • Though less commonly used in a nuke for offense, heavy cavalry do also possess strong offensive stats. Their speed is not an asset here however, as when used with offense, they would generally be traveling with rams, which would slow down the entire party despite heavy cavalry's fast speed on its own.
    • When used with offense, they are generally used with a mixture of axes, light calvary, and rams. It uncommon to see a straight out attack of just axes, heavy calvary and rams, and rarely an attack of just heavy calvary.
    • Though they are strong on offense, light calvary is still superior to them in strength. Mixing heavy calvary into your nuke will reduce its strength, but there is a plus side to using a heavy cavalry nuke too. Because heavy calvary is also useful in defense, in times of need for support, you can actually use it to support villages under attack. This extra defense can allow for up to a 3:2 offense to defense ration of villages. So though your nuke may be slightly weaker, you will be able to have more offense villages in total that may make up for that fact, and be able to support them all.
  • It is also worth noting that heavy calvary use a large quantity of iron in their production; when recruiting 24/7 you may find yourself checking market offers for additional iron to support everything.
