More Information
The scout's task is to gather information about enemy villages. They are produced in the stables. To spy on an enemy, attack them with any number of scouts.

If the attacker doesn't include any attack units with this attack, it will be considered a scouting rather than an attack; there is little difference between the two, but it will show up differently in the reports section, designated by a blue rather than a green or a yellow dot.

During battle the attacking scouts will try to gather information about the defending village, while the enemy's scouts will try to capture the attacking scouts. The higher the ratio between defending and attacking scouts, the more scouts will be captured.

Scouts can be used to spy on other players' villages. Depending on the world settings and scout level, they can gather information on resources, buildings, and troop counts. In some worlds, scouts at level three can see the enemy troops outside a village as well as those in the village; in other worlds, this information can only be obtained if the paladin is sent with the scouts, using the paladin item, Kalid's Telescope. Attacking scouts can only be killed by defending scouts. The minimum number of scouts required per attack is dependent upon the world settings.

Scouts require a stable at level 1, and must be researched in the smithy before they can be recruited.

Scouts are often used in large or small numbers to attack an enemy and retrieve information from his village. Scouts are the fastest moving unit in the game, the actual speed depends on unit speed per world.

Scout levels

(Some TW servers have only one scout level available, with functionality as level 2 or 3, depending on world, as stated below)

For worlds with Tech levels enabled, Scouts are limited to their ability based on their level:

  1. At Level 1 they scout the available resources and units inside the village.
  2. At Level 2 they scout the Structure levels of the village's buildings.
  3. At Level 3 they scout if there are troops outside the village too.

Odds

  • If the defender has the same number of scouts as the attacker, approximately 50% of the attacking scouts will survive.
  • If the defender has twice the number of scouts as the attacker, very rarely will any attacking scouts survive.

Values

  • If at least one of the scouts survives, the attacker gets a report of the enemy's resources.
  • If at least 50% of the scouts survive, the attacker gets a report of the enemy's building levels and resources.
  • If at least 70% of the scouts survive, the attacker gets a report of the enemy's resources, building levels, and troop counts, both inside and outside the defending village (depending on research level and world settings).
