What the heck happened to the first beginner's guide? It was one of the most useful.
- I'm sorry but it was spilt up into Beginners guide and Beginners guide Five. I thouroghly reviewed the history logs and there is only a little missing. I will be filling that in now though. --Jjjtts6Sysop 17:29, 17 July 2008 (CEST)
Mimelim's guide to offense and defense
Mimelim's guide to offense and defense appears twice.
Please do not bring it back.
Furthermore, the guide is not a "specific beginning" guide, so it doesn't belong under that header anyway.

I am well aware that it is listed twice. It was left that way on purpose because it is a specific guide focusing on offense and defense that even beginners may find useful reading for future reference and planning, therefore listed under specific guides and a miscellaneous guide as advanced users will find it even more useful than beginners will, but the advanced users will rarely look under beginner guides. Therefore, it was purposely left in both places.

It would make sense to me, then, that it would appear not in the "Specific Beginnings" section, but in the "Beginner Guides" section. I believe "specific beginnings" is a section for articles that guide one through the "often rough start in an aggressive area."

I agree with Cheesasaurus. Specific beginnings is definitely no the name you'd use for a guide that doesn't tell you anything about how to start up and expressly states that it's not suggested for users with less than 10 villages.
Furthermore, I submit to you the idea that maybe, just maybe all players interested in finding guides like this would look through the miscellaneous guides section. There aren't really enough guides there now that they won't show on the same page. There is no need for the guide to be displayed twice. It's bad categorization if you ask me.

Having taken the discussion into account, I have since made some revisions to the page. As there was already a category for beginner guides, I changed the specific beginnings to Specialized guides: Beginner and Advanced. This was done to allow all specialized guides of this sort to be grouped together, but to also let more advanced players realize that not all guides posted are for beginners. With this change, I have removed the double posting of Mimelin's guide and changed Misc Guides to Strategy/Tactical Guides, do differentiate between the building guides and the strategy guides. I have also considered the viewpoint that the guides posted are not the most reliable in the eyes of many players. This being the case, and since I have asked for better guides to be submitted, I have added another post to the tips section. Suggestions continue to be welcome.
