Happy-Wiki!

If there's anything you want to ask about me, please ask it here. Thanks.--Matt - This user is SomewhereThis Happy-Wiki Supporter is Somewhere

YAY!!

Yay, your using the status, ya know I made them? Anyway, I suggest you make something like User:Mattman/My Staus to make a template, this way you won't have to edit your user/sig/talk/anything else page, that way, you update that, then you won't have to update every thing. oh, and by the way, thanks for using the status boxes!! Akira Otomo, the Wiki Ninja (Talk | Contributions | Happy-Wiki Project) Help me become a Moderator, support me!! 21:15, 17 February 2008 (CET)

Hah, thanks! :-D As for making my own template page, I think that'd just clutter up the forums - after all, you've already made one, so I'll just use yours. Anyway, I should be thanking you for making the status things, not the other way around!--Matt - This user is SomewhereThis Happy-Wiki Supporter is Somewhere

Yes, but I never thought that anyone would use them, but if you make a template and update that, everywhere your signiture is will update, too. Because with your signiture, one from yesterday will look different tio today's iff you change it, but put a template in and that won't happen. AO

Hah, too late: I've changed it now. I'm considering combining this with yours, or possibly downsizing yours into my current one. Hmm... So many possibilities. 'Tis hard to find the balance between a fun signature, a useful signature and a sensible/clear signature. Meh. :-P --Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 21:25, 18 February 2008 (CET)

Well done on the Tribe page, I'll take a leaf out of your book and stick to one thing! AO

Hey, thanks! It is a really good way of getting some serious editing done: find a page that really needs an update and think 'right, I'm going to edit some of this every day'. After a while you'll get bored: that's when you take a break and update some other stuff, or glance through the stubs list and stuff.--Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 17:58, 19 February 2008 (CET)
Oh, are you gonna use the Happy-Wiki Custom TOC? put
{{Happy-Wiki TOC}}

on your User, see my page for what it does! AO

I saw that; congrats, by the way, as it is a great template. I'll definately implement it when I have a few more sections here; in fact, I may as well put it in now! :-) --Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 19:41, 19 February 2008 (CET)

I didn't do it all by myself, I used Ocbaker's Template, then added the Wiki Support Image, it was really easy actually. AO

Haha, you shouldn't have said that. I would've thought that you made it otherwise! XD --Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 20:40, 19 February 2008 (CET)
Now you can use <br />{{Happy-Wiki TOC|Your Text}} to add your text to the menu, <br />or use {{WikiNinja|""}} and replace "" with either left, right or center,<br /> if you don't want the menu to say anything, add {{Happy-Wiki TOC|}}, otherwise it will say {{{1}}}.
Hope this helps, AO
Thanks, and done! :-D --Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 21:03, 19 February 2008 (CET)

I'll make some more stuff in a minute ... AO

Go to Template:Wanna Be SysOp and see how to use this Template, see ya tomorrow! AO
Do you really need a template to tell people that you want to be a SysOp? I mean, sure, look for others' opinions, but I don't think I'd ever use that, to be honest. :-P --Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 18:09, 21 February 2008 (CET)
Fine then, I'll get into SysOp title and delete it. AO

TW:RfA

Regarding: TW:RfA
Let's get this straight, I'm not going to shout (shout-type) or anything else, I'm just wonering, what kind of things should I do? I want to do a Mattman thing 'n' all, stick to one article, but I can't do that becuase 1. My Compuer has not got much of the Hard Drive memory left, and 2. The Laptop isn't connected to the Internet, so I just can't get. But I'll try! But anyway, what should I do?
Thanks for actually commenting, even though it wasn't a support! Oh, by the way -- a Non-Support is called an Oppose, ;] I love those things! AO

Hey! I've changed my comment from a non-support... not to an oppose, but to a comment, as I realised that you're not far away from getting my support! As for how you can improve, I've noticed that you seem to have a lot of the coding type of knowledge: maybe you could do something to make Editing help more clear and more detailed.--Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 11:27, 23 February 2008 (CET)
Thank you. AO

Help

I was wondering, could I either help or take over Building please, as this would set a good goal for me, thanks! AO

Sure, feel free: it needs an update to make it look more appealing and be more informative. I'm sure you'd do a good job of it, too. --Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 12:24, 23 February 2008 (CET)
Thanks, this'll be my thing until I get something more challenging -- this way, I'll be more mature! Do you like my new skig? Akira Otomo Talk Contributions Template Wiki Happy-Wiki Project
Haha, nice! You should put it all in brackets - just big size. Anyway, good luck with 'buildings': I'll take a look from time-to-time, too, and add in anything which I think of (if there is anything!).--Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 12:27, 24 February 2008 (CET)

Thanks, AO

Surely the image you uploaded will have a horrid green background, which doest suit the wiki? --OscardogTalk.::.Admin

I know! :-P I'm trying to re-upload it now, but if it doesn't work, I'll just revert it to what it was previously. I was trying to make it a bit smaller and more streamlined, but it doesn't seem to be working. --Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 13:30, 24 February 2008 (CET)

RE: View Count

Look at the bottom of the page, it'll say "Last Edited on ..." this is where you can get the stats on when it was last updated and "This page has been viewed ... times" this is the View Count thing, AO

Ooh yeah! Thanks! :-D--Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 16:59, 24 February 2008 (CET)

Glad to see I'm of some use. AO

RE: Editor of the Week!!

I put you as Editor of the Week because you ROCK!! Really, I don't think anybody else deserves it, cuz you just edit and edit and edit!! I suck though. Also, I didn't put Tribe on cuz you worked on it (well, there I'm lying, partly ...), but becuase it's come so far over the past few days. AO

Aaah. *Warm fuzzy feeling.* Thanks, mate. :-D --Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 17:51, 24 February 2008 (CET)
Well, I'm not the best person, but I am close to it! Thank you for getting me out of that stupid tight hole I was worried about. AO

Page of the Week

What? Credit? No, I'm just editing it as normal, not alot of work!! Infact, I might take that break, you know 'nother few days, take a break for 'bout a week, but nothin' major. I might not though. AO

Whatever you feel happy about. If you take a break, it might make the wiki that bit nicer when you come back; however, you don't have to: it is up to you! As for the Page of the Week... well, it makes it sound good! :-P --Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 20:50, 25 February 2008 (CET)

Yeh, not gonna take a break until about June now, take June or May, or both off! AO

Cool; it is whatever you feel happiest doing. If May comes and you're perfectly happy, well, there's no need to still take a break. However, it is always nice to explore new stuff once in a while: after all, this wiki isn't everything. :-P --Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 18:13, 28 February 2008 (CET)
Just found out ... my B-Day's on Friday 13th June this + next year ... crud!! AO

Revisions to the Save/Preview Buttons

Im just curious what you think of the modifications made to the save page button, instead of just being able to click save you now must preview. This is one measure im trialing to prevent bots and vandals from attacking the wiki, a vandal will not want to sit and wait for pages to load and will get bored after 1-2 :) Bots cannot handle breaks in code, and will not expect the save button to be unavaliable so will just crash. It might be annoying, i find it alright, but what do you think? Thanks! --OscardogTalk.::.Admin

I must first apologise for my lack of activity. Regarding the changes that you mentioned, I do think that it is a good move for tackling vandalism and bots; however, I believe that it isn't the best move. I'm afraid that I don't really have any ideas for an alternative, though, so it'll have to do for now. Possibly making edits without logging in a maximum of 100 characters could help? I'll think about it. Thanks for asking my opinion, anyway; for now, it is okay (I usually preview anyway), but it definitely isn't the most practical solution to the problem. --Matt - (Talk.:.My contributions.:.Happy-Wiki project) 18:18, 8 March 2008 (CET)
