Village
From TribalWarsWiki
The village is the basic political unit in Tribal Wars. Gameplay is centered on the acquiring, defending, and development of villages.

Starting village
Players start with a basic village, which only has a level-1 Warehouse, a level-1 Farm, a level-1 Hiding place, and a level-1 Village Headquarters. In worlds with the Church feature enabled, the starting village will also have a First Church. The main aim at the beginning of the game is to develop this village.
As villages develop, new buildings are created, technologies are researched, and units are created. The appearance of villages on the map represents these developments; however, the specific details shown are not accurate. On the map at 300 points the village gains a wall even if it doesn't have one. At 1,000 points the village looks bigger and has more visible buildings. At 3,000 points it looks like a hexagon and appears very developed. At 9,000 points the hexagon becomes black, and at 11,000 points the village will have a blue glowing ring around it.
Other village types
There are several other village types, including Barbarian, Abandoned, and Bonus villages.
Specialisation
After gaining multiple villages, it is usual for players to make one or more into a specialist village: defensive, offensive, scout centre, market, centre, or support centre.
Offensive village
An offensive village builds only Axemen, Light Cavalry, Mounted Archers (if available), Rams, and Catapults. There should be more offensive villages than defensive, but fewer than scout centres. Defensive troops are supplied by support centres.
Defensive village
A defensive village builds only Spearmen, Swordsmen, Catapults, and Archers (if available). Heavy Cavalry are not necessary to a defensive village, but have good general defence and can be trained to decrease the total time needed to create a full-farm defensive village (handy during wartime). A widely accepted ratio of defensive to offensive villages is 3:1.
Scout centre
A scout centre builds only Scouts and sends them to the other villages. The barracks should only be built to the requirements for the stable, which should be maxed (level 20), and non-essential buildings should be avoided to keep points low1. Defensive troops are supplied by support centres.
Support centre
A support centre is for building defensive troops to support offensive villages and scout centres. Because it will send all of its troops to other villages, points need to be kept low1. Build the barracks, wall, and farm to the max, the smithy to level 15, and the other economic buildings to low levels.
Heavy Cavalry should be made mainly in these villages only, because they are exceptional defenders and fast.
Market centre
A market centre is used to supply and store resources for the player's neighbouring villages. This type of village contains little more than resource buildings, a Market, a warehouse, and a wall, and points should be kept low1. The market centre is best situated next to a support centre.
Notes
- The scout, support, and market centres should be low-point villages so that they aren't big targets. Also, until a player has seven or more villages, only require one scout centre, one market centre, and and one or two support centres are needed.
