This page is a combination of village types found across most worlds. Note that some villages are specific to certain worlds and can only be found on these worlds.

Abandoned villages

What are they?

An abandoned village is one that was formerly owned by a player, but their account lapsed. These villages may have defenders, however they will not rebuild themselves. Abandoned villages continue to gather resources, which makes them an easy target for farming.

Many abandoned villages are fairly basic. This means that they are not an attractive target to take over. However, high point abandoned villages (abandoneds) are highly attractive due to the lack of defending player, leading some players to even support high point abandonds to prevent others taking them. In version 4.0 (world 13 and higher), villages that have been abandoned due to an account lapse now become Barbarian villages.

Note

  • In world 13, 14, 30, and 31 although these villages grow over time, no troops are trained, thus making them free picking.
  • Abandoned villages are the "grey" villages you see on your map.
  • They are commonly used as resource farms.

Reasons for abandonment

A village is abandoned when the account to which it belongs is inactive for more than 14 days. Premium Accounts do not get deleted due to inactivity. Players can also delete their own accounts or abandon them to move to a new location.

If an account is deleted, for whatever reason, the villages will be abandoned.

Barbarian villages

What are they?

When players violate game rules, administrators have the option of taking one or more villages from the player. These villages are abandoned villages that may have very strong garrisons. They continue to grow in points despite the lack of ownership making them very attractive noble targets later in the game. Barbarian villages do not need resources to grow, and thus improve in point value even if constantly farmed. On the other hand, they do not grow as fast as a player-controlled village can.

Notes

  • These villages are occasionally spawned by the game, rather than only by user abandons and they create points slowly over time.
  • No units are held in these villages, so it makes them easy picking for nobles looking for high point villages.
  • Many worlds have placed a maximum on how many points a barbarian or bonus village can grow. This maximum is 3,000 on most worlds. If a player catapults buildings, dropping the points below 3,000, the village will grow back to 3,000.

Bonus villages

What are they?

New in world 13 and later, Bonus villages are villages that are randomly placed on the map when the players join. They start at 26 points (the standard for new villages for players) and they keep growing (buildings/points). These villages can be attacked and nobled like any other village. Bonus villages have special features. They are specially marked on the map and the bonus is visible.

Notes

There will be less than 10% bonus villages in a world.
