Churches double your troops attack or defense strength. Support units are under the influence of the church in the village they are supporting. Ally and tribe churches do not help - only your own churches affect your troops.

Example: 1000 spear attacking 1000 axe with no walls

1. Neither are religious - 1000 spear die, 994 axe die
2. Attacker is religious, defender is not (has no church in that village) - All attacking units fight with the strength of 2 units. 356 spear die, 1000 axe die
3. Attacker is not religious (no influential church within range), defender is religious - All defending units defend with the strength of 2 units. 1000 spear die, 352 axe die
4. Both attacker & defender are religious - No difference in attack or defense strength - 1000 spear die, 994 axe die
